Those who potluck together, save the World together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our community potluck event! There isn’t much better than good food and great company. In case you missed it, here is a quick recap:

C.A.T. members brought ingredients for vegetarian “Buddha Bowls,” and there was such an amazing array of delicious food!

We had a combination of new, disposable utensils saved from being tossed in the trash and some reusable dishes. All uneaten food from people’s plates went into a bin that was taken home for my chickens to eat. Chickens love reducing food waste!
C.A.T. member Ken Barker spoke about Climate Action Tigard and our goals for guiding and supporting the community in taking action against climate change.

C.A.T. President Shawne Martinez talked about some current events, like Tigard’s Winter walk + ride to school day coming up. He introduced the City of Tigard’s new Sustainability Coordinator, Lauriel Amoroso, who explained her new role and what it involves.

We are so thankful to the City of Tigard for their continued efforts to reduce our city’s carbon footprint and working towards a sustainable future. Be sure to check out the city’s Climate Hub here.

We love connecting with our Tigard community members at events like this community potluck and hope to see you at the next one!
